The Big Dig cost 22 Billion Dollars to improve traffic flows in and around the city. Another result was the creation of the Rose Kennedy Greenway along the areas formerly occupied by the raised roadway. http://www.rosekennedygreenway.org/ It's a great improvement, and they had some festivities to celebrate it this weekend.

Saw Madeleine Peyroux perform at the Orpheum, she was opening for Césaria Évora (from Cape Verde). It's been a year of seeing many types of music. Saw The Allman Brothers and Ratdog in August. In June it was Cyndi Lauper and the B-52s, and prior to that was Jazz Fest in New Orleans in May. Santana and Derek Trucks in April. And a coworker recently showed me clips of when they were in a punk band in the late 70's Lou Miami and the Kozmetix.
